Weight-loss, Work, and Fiddlehead Ferns

So in an effort to lose weight (which is working well so far), I have decided to try my hand at veganism. Clint Eastwood is a vegan, and if the king of the bad-asses is a vegan, so should I be.

I work at a natural foods market in Bexley, Ohio to pay the bills (and because it's really great to learn about herbs and produce and grains and such). Anyway, we just got in the coolest item ever on Friday. Fiddlehead Ferns. Here's a picture so you know what I mean:



The ones we got were wild-harvested in Vermont where apparently they grow in everyone's backyard. These things are great! They're light and crunchy and earthy and slightly sweet. I'm making stir-fry out of them (with some asparagus and onion and tamari, over flounder). If the dish turns out well, I'll post the recipe.
